Dolly Parton is set to release her first album since 2008's 'Backwoods Barbie.' 'Better Day,' on the icon's own Dolly Records, will hit stores June 28. The disc will contain all new material, and Dolly will follow it up with a world tour.

Dolly will debut the album's first single, 'Together You and I,' this Friday, May 27, on the 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show.' The song will also be released to radio that day.

"I wanted to do an album that would be very uplifting and positive, as well as inspirational," Dolly says, explaining the upbeat title. "Times are hard all over. I think people need to feel better and I thought 'Better Day' was a perfect title because it says 'hope.'"

Dolly's tour begins July 17 in Knoxville, Tenn., and wraps up in the U.S. on August 3. The tour will move overseas on August 20. Highlights include shows on September 7 and 8 at London's O2 Arena.
