Forget the label, management and consultants . . . It was Dierks Bentley's fans who made all of the big decisions about his upcoming greatest-hits compilation. Thousands of fans logged onto www.dierks.com to vote on the title, special content and artwork of the new album, set for release on May 6.

Bentley announced the results of the votes in a live online chat this week. His fans chose the album title, 'Greatest Hits: Every Mile A Memory 2003 - 2008.' It will include ten of his biggest radio hits, plus live versions of 'So So Long,' 'Lot of Leavin' Left To Do,' 'Wish It Would Break' and 'Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go).' The CD will also feature two new tracks: 'With the Band' and 'Sweet and Wild,' a duet featuring country newcomer Sarah Buxton.

The first 3,000 fans who participated in the voting will be listed as executive producers in Bentley's album liner notes. They'll also have a donation to Vanderbilt Childrens' Hospital made in their honor.
