As if we haven't had this song stuck in our head for awhile now, Thomas Rhett's "Die a Happy Man" was named the CMA's Single of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards!

The award was presented by Olympic superstars, the 2016 women's gymnastic team, to an overjoyed Rhett, who admitted he was still emotional over the intro to the show.

During his acceptance speech, Rhett was sure to thank his beautiful wife that served as the inspiration for the song: "I gotta first thank the Lord for making all this happen for us ... my lovely wife, in the blue dress right there," said Rhett while onstage with his award. "This is a -- God, this is a dream come true. This is gonna go in a special place."

“I think the reason it translated so much is because every single line in the song is directly personal to our relationship and our marriage,” Rhett previously shared about the song and the meaning it holds in his life and to his fans. “I think my fans looked at that and saw it as very genuine, which it was, and I think that’s the reason it was so successful. It was one of the most fun songs I ever got to write.”

Rhett is nominated for another three awards at the CMA Awards. The singer will be heading out for his first-ever headlining tour planned for 2017, and because of it may be showing up with even more nominations next year!
