Congratulations are in order for Clare Bowen: She's newly engaged!

Musician Brandon Robert Young, the Nashville actress' boyfriend, popped the question during Bowen's performance at the Grand Ole Opry, being held at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, on Saturday (Dec. 5).

Back in March, Bowen named her now-fiance as an artist she'd recommend to fans of her TV show in an interview with People magazine.

"Some of his stuff is Sun Records-style love songs," she explains. "It's like old Elvis [Presley], and it's gorgeous."

In addition to her role on the ABC television drama, the Australian-born Bowen, who is a classically trained vocalist, is also working on a solo project with producer (and former Nashville musical producer) T Bone Burnett. She and Young have penned a few songs together, some of which she has been playing live.

"... One of the most well received one is called "Drums." We're really proud of that song," Bowen tells PennLive. "It's just about being yourself, loving who you love, dreaming what you dream, being who you are. It was one of the ones where we get to jump into the crowd and have a lot of fun."

The Boot extends our warmest wishes to the newly engaged couple!
