Carrie Underwood is featuring two female acts as openers on her Cry Pretty Tour 360 next spring, and that's no accident. The country superstar says that there is no excuse to not support the talented women in country music, because they've worked hard to earn their place in the industry. Readers can press play above to watch the clip of Underwood's appearance on the Women Want to Hear Women podcast.

The "Love Wins" artist has tapped Maddie & Tae and powerhouse trio Runaway June as opening acts for her tour, set to launch in May of 2019. "I’m not throwing anybody a bone by taking them out on tour with me," Underwood says on the podcast. "They deserve to be there and they’re gonna put on a great show, and I’m already proud of all that they’ve done."

During her Women Want to Hear Women appearance, the country superstar also says that it's important to "shut the door" on the idea that women don't want to hear other women on the radio. "It’s good when women support women," Underwood says, "And I feel like the more we do of that and the more normal it is, why would I not want to take women out on the road with me?"

The American Idol star doesn't pull any punches when she talks about the lack of women on country radio and represented in the industry, and says that she's doing her part by making sure some of that deserving talented finds a place -- at least, on her stage.

Underwood's new album, Cry Pretty is due out Sept. 14.
