Carrie Underwood has been named this year's CMA Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards!

Vince Gill took to the stage to present the Female Vocalist of the Year Award, which went to Underwood for the first time since 2008. During her speech, Underwood first thanked Jesus and her family before admitting that she didn't know what else to say, clearly overwhelmed with emotion and excitement.

This great honor comes as little surprise after the amazing year that Underwood has had. She spent most of 2016 on the road in celebration of her history-making sixth studio album, Storyteller. A nine-time CMA Awards host, Underwood has a long and loving history with the CMAs. This year, she was nominated for four awards total, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year title.

Underwood's win upsets the reign of Miranda Lambert who has won the Female Vocalist of the Year honor at the CMAs every year since 2012.
