Carrie Underwood spent her first Christmas as Mrs. Mike Fisher at the newlyweds' recently purchased home in her husband's native Canada, where she was in charge of preparing the holiday meal. And, she admits, it wasn't all smooth sailing.

"It [was] almost to the point of, 'Get outta my kitchen," she admits to CMT. "We were trying to do Christmas cooking and it was me and Mike's mom. It was really nice trying to get stuff together, and everybody was coming in grabbing food."

One item she wasn't responsible for preparing, however, was the meat. A strict vegetarian, the former 'American Idol' winner says that's one area she will happily leave to others. "I don't wanna be responsible for cooking meat cause I'll get everyone landed in the hospital," she jokes. "Some people drag me into this horrible conversation about how you should eat meat. I don't care what you put in your body, leave me out of this."

Carrie's plans for 2011 include dividing her time between Canada, where her husband plays for the Ottawa Senators, and her home in Nashville, while she works on a new record. "I am very malleable as far as what I sound like," she divulges. "If I go back home for a while, I come back using double negatives. I use 'ain't' all the time."

The transition, she acknowledges, is challenging after playing 108 shows before a million fans between March and December. "When you come off the road, it's kind of like, 'How do I become a person again?'" she explains.

One of her goals for 2011 is to learn how to support her better half. "I'll be here in Canada hanging out," she reveals about her resolution for the new year. "I can't be like groupie wife. I gotta learn how to be a hockey wife."

The Oklahoma native is nominated for her first Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for the song she wrote, 'There's a Place For Us' from the film, 'Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.' The Golden Globe Awards will air live January 16 on NBC.

Next, Carrie will head to the Grammy Awards, where she's up for Best Female Vocal Performance for the self-penned hit, 'Temporary Home.' The Grammys air live from Los Angeles February 13 on CBS.
