Blake Shelton Takes 2019 CMA Awards to ‘God’s Country’ [WATCH]

Blake Shelton brought his No. 1 single "God's Country" to the 2019 CMA Awards stage on Wednesday night (Nov. 13). The track was penned by rising country stars Hardy and Devin Dawson and accomplished songwriter Jordan Schmidt.

Shelton and a backing band featuring this year's history-making Musician of the Year Jenee Fleenor performed a spirited rendition of his Single of the Year. Although the historic night for Fleenor, the first woman nominated for Musician of the Year in the award's history, began with a win not shown on the live broadcast, she got her moment to shine with a fiery fiddle solo.

"God's Country" will be featured on Shelton's upcoming record, Fully Loaded: God's Country, which is scheduled for release on Dec. 13.  Fans can expect to hear familiar favorites such as "God's Country" and "Hell Right," his collaboration with Trace Adkins, on the album, along with some brand-new songs.

Between touring and acting as a coach on the hit TV series The Voice, Shelton has stayed plenty busy in recent years. Fully Loaded: God's Country will be his first album since 2017's Texoma Shore, which features his popular tracks "I'll Name the Dogs," "Turnin' Me On" and "I Lived It."

"God's Country" helped Shelton snag Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year nominations at the 2019 CMA Awards. "Dive Bar," his recent collaboration with Garth Brooks, is up for Musical Event of the Year.
