It might have taken 31 weeks, but Billy Currington has scored his seventh No. 1 hit. The Georgia native's latest single, 'Hey Girl,' earned the top spot on the charts last week.

The song is the debut single from 'We Are Tonight,' his fifth studio album. The record was produced by Dann Huff, Carson Chamberlain and Shy Carter.

“This album is the first time that I have ever worked with three different producers,” Currington explains . “It wasn’t planned, but just kind of happened that way. It was a great experience to be able to bring a different sound to this album and I hope the fans love it as much as I do.”

Currington undoubtedly welcomes the good news. He recently pleaded no contest to charges stemming from an incident on the water at his home on Tybee Island. He was sentenced to five years of probation and fined $1000.
