Allison Moorer ‘Crows’ With Baby in Tow
Allison Moorer's summer tour will be a family affair, with husband Steve Earle and their son John Henry accompanying her on the road.
It's only been seven weeks since Allison and Steve welcomed their son, but the new mom already has a packed concert schedule for June, July and August in support of her recently released CD, 'Crows,' and the acoustic 'Crows' EP that will be released May 25. As if that's not enough, she'll also appear on several television shows including 'The Tonight Show' and the 'Late Show With David Letterman,' during the next few weeks.
Despite the professional demands on her, baby John is clearly the man in charge of much of Allison's time these days.
"He's sitting here with me now as I'm trying to do interviews," Allison told The Boot, as her son cooed into the telephone. "He's the one in control."
When asked how it feels to go on tour so soon after her son was born, Allison gives credit to Steve for pitching in big time on parenting duties.
"Fortunately, I have a very supportive husband," Allison says. "He'll be coming with me and holding our son when I'm busy."
Baby John has apparently enjoyed music since he was in the womb, as Allison says she felt lots of kicks whenever she'd play songs from 'Crows' while she was pregnant. That love for tunes has grown since his birth.
"He seems to really like music and he loves to be sung to," says Allison. "He sure has sure been sung to a lot."
Allison's first concert is June 3 in Alexandria, Va. with Jay Farrar. Currently, her last scheduled concert is August 5 in New York with Steve Earle & Friends. For a full list of dates, click here.
