With just months until Dolly Parton's return to the big screen, the official movie trailer for the country icon's latest flick, 'A Joyful Noise,' has been released. Co-starring Queen Latifah, the inspiring movie is set to hit theaters Jan. 13, 2012. (Watch the movie preview below.)

"She was fun to work with! She's kind of towering over me, so we called each other 'Big' and 'Small,'" Dolly dishes about her Oscar-nominated co-star. "I would always say, 'Here comes the Queen!'" Dolly adds with a giggle.

The movie, written and directed by Todd Graff, chronicles the story of two women who unite to keep their tight-knit gospel choir from falling apart, following the death of the choir's director. Dolly portrays the late director's wife, who has her eye on replacing her husband, while Queen Latifah portrays a stern, no-nonsense mother of two teens who is put in charge of the choir.

"There's a love-hate relationship with Queen Latifah and me and, of course, toward the end we become friends," Dolly says of their characters. "It causes a lot of tension, and a lot of fun! I think it's going to be a wonderful movie."

Aside from her major movie release, the singer is in the middle of her Better Day world tour in promotion of her latest album release of the same name. The busy 65-year-old has no plans to slow down anytime soon. "I'm the least retiring person you ever met in your life," quips the songstress. "I'm not slowin' down, I'm goin' faster. The fewer days I got left, the more I gotta do in them!"

'A Joyful Noise' is Dolly's first starring movie role since her 1992 film, 'Straight Talk.' Dolly received Best Actress Golden Globe nominations in 1980 and 1982 for her films '9 to 5' and 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.'
