2018 Golden Boot Awards: Vote Now for Live Act of the Year
Welcome to the fifth annual Golden Boot Awards! The Boot’s fan-voted digital awards, the Golden Boot Awards feature 10 categories of staff-selected nominees who made waves in the country music world in 2018. Readers can vote for their preferred winner in each category as often as once per hour through 11:59PM ET on Jan. 27. We’ll announce the winners on the site on Jan. 28.
Live Act of the Year is an award that speaks to talent and energy. Drawing in a crowd and winning them over goes a step beyond writing and recording good songs.
Dierks Bentley is a legend on the rise thanks to his 2018 Mountain High Tour and his very own music festival in Colorado; teaming up with acts such as Brothers Osborne and other big names didn't hurt his live mojo either. Always a fan favorite, Luke Bryan continued to pack them in for live shows -- including during his annual Farm Tour, back for another year -- in 2018.
Kenny Chesney's fanatical No Shoes Nation and his ability to sell out stadiums are testaments to his live talent, while up-and-comer Tyler Childers was voted Best New Live Act by fans in The Boot's Golden Mic Awards in 2018. Luke Combs' powerful performances keep gaining momentum as his star continues to rise, and Jason Isbell and his band the 400 Unit are in high demand coast to coast thanks to their mesmerizing live shows.
Kacey Musgraves continues to delight audiences with her exceptional music that sounds even better live. Margo Price is another superb talent onstage: a throwback voice with contemporary lyrics and plenty of unique style.
Chris Stapleton has become an established standard for live performances, thanks to his guitarwork and out-of-this-world voice. But newly crowned CMA Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban has no trouble thrilling an audience, either, with energetic, hit-packed sets.
