Other than the talent, the only thing Blake Shelton was concerned about when he signed on as one of the four celebrity coaches for NBC's new show, 'The Voice,' was whether or not the producers would allow him to be his usual funny, irreverent self.

"I was afraid that when I signed on to do the show that they would want to filter me and censor me a little bit and some of the stuff I say, but I found out that those are the things that got me on the show," the singer tells The Boot. "Some of the other television shows I've done, that's where people have tried to hold me back or filter me. This show doesn't want to do that."

Granted, a few episodes of 'The Voice' were pre-taped, allowing the producers to edit as they see fit, but that is going to change. "Now I'm sure when it goes live in June, I'll have the sit-down talk with the producers," Blake anticipates.

Although, the country star doesn't think he's the one who will need a filter once they go to live TV. "If there was ever anybody that they need to be more worried about than me, it's Adam Levine," Blake says of the Maroon 5 frontman. "I used to think my dad was the master of forcing a curse word into a sentence, even when it was completely irrelevant. Adam Levine is the king of forcing unnecessary language into common everyday exchanges."

'The Voice,' which also features Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, premieres tonight (April 26) at 9:00 PM ET/PT on NBC.
