Luke Bryan Preps for ‘Surreal’ Tour With Tim McGraw
Luke Bryan is gearing up to head out on the road as part of Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic tour later this week. The opportunity to tour with the superstar is a bit overwhelming for the 'Someone Else Calling You Baby' singer.
"'Where the Green Grass Grows' is probably my favorite Tim McGraw song," Luke tells The Boot. "I was in college when that song came out, and it just defined a little era for me. I remember just being in college at fraternity parties, sitting in the back of our pickup trucks and having McGraw blasting on our speakers and stuff. He's certainly one of my heroes. So, to be able to tour with him is pretty surreal experience. He and I have talked a bit and it's just going to be an exciting tour."
As far as what fans can expect during the show, Luke reveals, "We've kind of put some ideas together on how everything's going to go down, and ideas about if I do an encore about what we may do. To be hashing out ideas for touring with Tim McGraw is one of those [moments], and while you're sitting there, I see a text come in, and Faith [Hill] is asking him how Luke is, and I'm thinking, 'Wow! This is just wacky.'"
Luke is also looking forward to getting to know Tim better, and possibly getting some advice on how the father of three daughters balances his personal and professional lives.
"I'll have an opportunity to become closer with him and respect him more as a person, and maybe learn some daddy tips on how he's managed to keep it all together having the kids and the career and all that stuff," he says. "It's always nice to hear somebody that's been there and done that, their take on it."
Luke hits the road on Tim's Emotional Traffic tour, which also features the Band Perry, beginning Friday (April 8) in Corpus Christi, Texas. Click here for more tour dates.
