Jake Owen to Join Keith Urban on Get Closer World Tour

Looks like Jake Owen is about to get a lot closer to one of his musical heroes. The Florida native was recently invited to be the opening act on the United States leg of Keith Urban's Get Closer world tour. The trek kicks off June 16, hitting almost 50 cities before wrapping in October.

"I'm honored to join Keith on his tour," Jake writes on his website. "Keith and his band are some of the greatest entertainers in the world, and I'm looking forward to getting out there and watching him play every night. This is going to be truly an amazing summer!!"

Being on the road for five months might require Jake to buy a larger storage space for his home in Nashville. "Every single day we get something interesting," he tells The Boot about the gifts he receives from adoring fans. "Usually it's either some sort of candy or homemade baked goods, but then again I'm sometimes given jewelry. I've been given stories and songs that people have written for me. I've been given art work -- pictures of myself that they've drawn of me. I've got stuffed animals given to me ... I have a locker back in Nashville that we keep all the stuff in."
