Ashley Monroe has released a new solo single, "On to Something Good."

The song is an uptempo tune that Monroe says captures a perfect snapshot of where she is in life right now as a recently married 28-year-old moving "on to something good."

"As cheesy as this might sound, that’s exactly how it felt," she says. "I like that the song is hopeful, and it’s saying, ‘Hey, we’ve all been there. We all know what it’s like to be down and out, but there’s hope if you keep on going. And if you do, you will be on to something good.’”

Monroe married Chicago White Sox pitcher John Danks in October of 2013. The couple met through a mutual friend after one of Monroe's shows in 2011. Their wedding was officiated by Blake Shelton, with his wife Miranda Lambert, who is one of Monroe's Pistol Annies bandmates, serving as maid of honor.

“I married my best friend,” the singer says of her husband. “He has such a good heart.”

"On to Something Good" follows the success of Monroe's duet with Shelton, "Lonely Tonight," which they performed together at the 2014 CMA Awards. The single will be on Monroe's upcoming album, a followup to 2013's Like A Rose.
