Why We Dig Him
: There's no mistaking Zane Williams' Texas roots. Blessed with a sharp eye for detail, crafting hook-filled story songs that recall Steve Earle and Guy Clark, Zane delivers dancehall-ready tunes like the shuffling 'Tired of Being Perfect' and a dizzying take on '99 Bottles (of Beer on the Wall)' and stays true to his Lone Star heritage while flirting with the best of what Nashville has to offer. Part of the credit for that has to be given to Radney Foster, producer of Zane's latest, 'The Right Place.'

Zane is the writer of Jason Michael Carroll's poignant Top 15 single, 'Hurry Home,' and in 2005, his original rendition of the song earned the Texan a $20,000 prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
