Whitney Rose is sharing her first new track since the release of Heartbreaker of the Year in 2015.

On "My Boots," Rose doesn't take herself too seriously, but while the song is mainly about boots -- she's been known to sport a pair of custom cactus and rose Liberty cowboy boots -- she says that the lyrics also carries a stronger message.

“While it’s ostensibly just about wearing whatever the hell you wanna wear, it’s also about embracing the quirks and flaws that make you, you,” she says in a press release.

The song features instrumentation from some classic country musicians, including Redd Volkaert, who has played as part of Merle Haggard's backing band the Strangers, and Earl Poole Ball of the Tennessee Three, Johnny Cash's backing band. Check out the track below.

Rose currently lives in Austin, Texas, where she will kick off a weekly show at the Continental Club on Sept. 29, running through Nov. 3. A list of upcoming tour dates can be found at WhitneyRoseMusic.com.
