Ty Herndon, Andy Griggs and Jamie O’Neal Announce Plans for 2015 Tour
Talk about a perfect trifecta! Ty Herndon, Andy Griggs and Jamie O'Neal have announced that they will be hitting the road together in 2015 for a joint tour -- and the three friends can't wait to share their talents on stage.
“The first time the three of us did a show together, I wondered how in the world this would ever work," Herndon recalls. "At first we did separate shows, but as time went on, we started doing our shows together. The crowd seemed to love the fact that they got all these hits in one two-hour show."
The threesome soon realized they were better together than apart, and the concept for their show was born.
"Then we started singing harmonies with each other," Herndon adds. "I noticed pretty quickly that we had something special. Three powerhouse vocalists coming together and taking things to a new level."
Adds Griggs, "God certainly displays his amazing sense of humor each time he places me and Ty on tour together. I've never known a guy that I had half of the things in life in common with ... but then again can't be any more different than John Wayne and Prince!
"With Ty and myself, we share two of the rarest things in common. I suppose they out-trump the mountains of shortcomings and differences that lay between us," he continues. "Those two qualities we share are: being real and true to our natures, and being friends."
Balancing out the two men will be O'Neal's job, but she says she is more than up for the challenge.
“I'm so excited to be a part of this," she says. "Ty and Andy are two of the best male vocalists from any genre ... Ty is the most well put-together, smoothest control freak I've ever met. Andy is a cute, lovable redneck with the softest heart. I only know when we sang together for the first time, something very special happened, and here we are, taking the next obvious step."
The news of the upcoming tour comes on the heels of Herndon's recent announcement that he is gay and has been dating another man for a long time.
The trio launched their tour with a performance at Charlie Daniels & Friends Christmas 4 Kids concert, which was held Nov. 24 at the Ryman Auditorium. Future dates have not been announced, but they are scheduled to perform together for the Guitars and Country Stars Alaska Cruise, which sets sail on May 16 from Seattle, Wash.
