Toby Keith Gets Animated in ‘Drunk Americans’ Music Video
Toby Keith has released the music video for his latest single, 'Drunk Americans.'
The video was directed by Michael Salomon and features animation by Ben Naff, who captured the all-inclusive lyrics of Keith's song with images of everyone he describes in his lyrics: "We ain't East, we ain't West / We ain't left, we ain't right / Ain't black, we ain't white / We just came here to drink ... We just raise up our glass / We don't give a rat's ass / If you're a Democrat or Republican / We're happy to be here tonight, you can see / We're just all drunk Americans."
The tune was penned by Brandy Clark, Bob DiPiero and Shane McAnally.
“We wanted to write it sort of like a modern day ‘Piano Man,'” Clark says. “It’s like, ‘When we’re in here drinking, who cares what we are outside of this?'”
In the video, an animated Keith is seen playing bartender, before the animation moves on to show hippies, politicians, sports fans and more.
'Drunk Americans' serves as the debut single form Keith's upcoming ’35 MPH Town' record. He is set to appear alongside Tim McGraw and Keith Urban as a headliner at this summer's Taste of Country Music Festival.
