Tim McGraw will be presented with the True Ally Award at the 2010 Men Stopping Violence awards dinner in Atlanta, Ga., on October 2. The event recognizes individuals who have dedicated time and resources to fostering safety and justice for battered women.

The father of three daughters is being honored for his fundraising efforts with wife Faith Hill, in support of women's shelters in Tennessee. The award itself is given to "men of conscience -- allies who use their influence to advocate for safety, equality and respect for women and girls."

Others being honored include Alpha Phi Alpha President Herman "Skip" Mason, Jr., award-winning playwright Pearl Cleage and the late psychologist and peace activist Frank Ostrowski.

Tonight (September 1), Tim hosts the ABC-TV special, 'CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock,' and returns to the road for a handful of dates on Friday, September 3 in Syracuse, N.Y.
