Tim McGraw has revealed the release date for his upcoming album, 'Sundown Heaven Town.'

In a press release Thursday (April 3), the superstar announced the album is due on Sept. 16. Its lead single, 'Lookin' for That Girl,' is currently at radio.

McGraw is launching a unique fan interactive program with his performance at the ACM Awards on Sunday (April 6). When fans Shazam his ACM performance, they can join the Countdown to Sundown program, which will afford them access to exclusive content. They will also be entered to win a season pass for two tickets to each of McGraw's upcoming summer tour dates, including an all-expenses-paid trip to the tour's opening night.

The Sundown Heaven Town Tour will kick off May 8 and visit 30 cities this summer, with opening acts Kip Moore and Cassadee Pope. McGraw will unveil more songs from the upcoming album via a series of TV performances as the release date draws closer, and fans who join the Countdown to Sundown will have access to free downloads, first listens, behind the scenes looks, exclusive tour experiences, contests and more.

"When you finish making an album, all you want is to have everyone hear it as soon as possible," McGraw says. "I'm in the unique position this year that I'm able to tour ahead of the album and introduce the fans to these songs early. I've never done anything like this before, but in a world driven by immediate gratification, I want to be able to play a song live somewhere and then have it available for download right then. You just never know where new music might pop up over the next few months… It's going to be a fun summer!"
