Tim McGraw performed a new song, 'Meanwhile Back at Mama's,' during the 2014 ACM Awards.

McGraw was joined on the song, which is from his upcoming album, 'Sundown Heaven Town,' by his wife, Faith Hill.  Singing into old-fashioned microphones, with only an acoustic band backing them up, it was quickly clear why they are one of the most sought-after acts in Las Vegas.

Their love, on and off stage, was palpable as they sang, "Meanwhile back at Mama's / The porch light's on, come in if you wanna / Supper's on the stove and beers in the fridge / Red sun sinkin' out low on the ridge."

Fans will have to wait a while to get their hands on the entire album. The Louisiana native just announced his latest record won't be released until Sept. 16, but his Sundown Heaven Town Tour will kick off on May 8.

“When you finish making an album, all you want is to have everyone hear it as soon as possible,” McGraw explains. “I’m in the unique position this year that I’m able to tour ahead of the album and introduce the fans to these songs early. I’ve never done anything like this before, but in a world driven by immediate gratification, I want to be able to play a song live somewhere and then have it available for download right then. You just never know where new music might pop up over the next few months… It’s going to be a fun summer!”

McGraw was nominated for four ACM Awards this evening, including Album of the Year for his last record, 'Two Lanes of Freedom.'
