Tim McGraw Shares ‘Damn Country Music’ Through New Video

Tim McGraw has released a music video for "Damn Country Music." He revealed the video for the song, which is title track of his upcoming new album, via Facebook.

Although McGraw appears in the clip, it's his crew and band, along with his fans, who are the stars, as they wear T-shirts featuring pieces of the song's lyrics: "Neon Fever," "Small Town Dreamer," "Everything You Have Is Worth Losing" and "Damn Country Music," for example. The black-and-white video showcases what the singer believes is one of the more powerful tracks on the new record.

“When I recorded “Damn Country Music,” it was one of those electric moments,” McGraw says. “It speaks to a passion and being at a crossroads in your life when you make that decision to pursue it knowing you might pay a heavy price.”

The lyric T-shirts shown in the clip are currently for sale. In addition, fans can win the actual shirt worn by McGraw in the video, which has been signed by the singer, by sharing the new music video.

The country music hitmaker already released the debut single, "Top of the World," from the new record, but he says that fans shouldn't judge the album by what they have already heard.

“I think, as an artist, you have to go into the studio and try to reach the goals,” he says. “I think if you start chasing radio, if you start chasing what your fans want to hear — I think if you start chasing what you think is the end thing — it’s okay to include some of that stuff, but if you start chasing that as a home-base, I think you’re in trouble as an artist.”

Damn Country Music will be released on Nov. 6. Fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will get a free download of the title track.
