At the 2019 CMT Music Awards, Thomas Rhett and Little Big Town brought "Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time," a duet off of Rhett's latest album, Center Point Roadto the awards show stage. The already all-star pairing called on New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty to further drive up the energy level.

Rhett started the performance -- the first of the annual awards show -- in the crowd, making his way to the stage through the fans and artists gathered at Bridgestone Arena. Little Big Town grooved along and offered harmonies during the performance, while Trombone Shorty led a quartet of brass players through the song's horn flourishes. Confetti rained down on the audience as the song concluded.

"Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time" is the second track on Rhett's 2019 album Center Point Road, his fourth studio project. The song is one of multiple collaborations included on the project, which also features a duet with Kelsea Ballerini on the album's title track.

Each year, the CMT Music Awards help kick off Nashville's annual CMA Fest with a showcase of awards and performances. In 2019, Little Big Town hosted the event in addition to performing during the course of the evening; it's the group's second consecutive year as hosts.

In addition to a stacked schedule of performances during CMA Fest, Rhett will return to co-host this year's CMA Fest TV special with Ballerini. The pair have hosted the special for the past consecutive three years, and this year, they will also be joined by country radio DJ Bobby Bones.
