Thomas Rhett is giving fans a small glimpse of what life is like backstage for the 'It Goes Like This' singer and his band.

In a video with CMT Listen Up, Rhett says that he still gets nervous to play in front of people, even after all of the success he's seen.

"You know, I get nervous before every show," Rhett says. "It doesn't matter if I'm playing for my momma or 20,000 people. I guess it turns into energy though when I get on stage."

From the sounds of it, those nerves transfer into a ton of energy, which Rhett gives back to fans when he's onstage.

"We try to put the set together to where we can have transitions that feel right," Rhett says. "It's like, you knock 'em, you knock 'em, you knock 'em and then you give them a three-minute chance to breathe and then you knock 'em out again. It never stops ... Our set this year, there's no time to breathe. I think it took until song nine until I could get a sip of water."

It's a good thing the singer enjoys a high-energy performance. He's currently on tour with Brantley Gilbert, and he'll be hitting the road with Miranda Lambert this summer, as well as hitting up the Taste of Country Music Festival in June.
