The Henningsens know a lot about farming. As a seventh-generation Illinois farm family, the trio is honoring their roots with a new track that pays tribute to the American farmer.

“People don’t realize the time, heartache, energy, money and, most of all, the risk it takes to bring food to your grocery store,” Brian Henningsen says of the new song, "Why I Farm." “We hope this song will help bring that image to life for consumers.”

The family trio, made up of Brian Henningsen, his daughter Clara Henningsen and son Aaron Henningsen, partnered with family-owned seed company Beck's to release the track as part of their Why I Farm movement.

“We’re thrilled to continue honoring the American farmer through this unique relationship,” says Beck's President Scott Beck. “... The Henningsens' background allows the group to vividly tell the story of the American farmer in a unique way, through lyrics. It’s not only their personal experiences, but those of every farmer.”

The Henningsens hit the country music scene in 2013 with the release of their song "American Beautiful." They released a Christmas album at the end of 2014 and have plans to put out more music later this year. In the meantime, the trio has hit the road to perform six shows in the Midwest on their Why I Farm Mini-Tour. A list of upcoming shows can be found on the group's Facebook page.
