It costs over $2 million per day to run St. Jude Children's Research Hospital -- an astronomical number made even more significant by the fact that no patient's family ever receives a bill. That's why it's so heartening to see country trio the Band Perry partnering with the hospital for the 2015 St. Jude Thanks and Giving Campaign.

The St. Jude Thanks and Giving Campaign is in its 12th year in 2015, and it has helped transform the holiday season into a time of -- well, thanks and giving. The campaign raises awareness of and funds for the incredibly important battle to end childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases by partnering with celebrities, media and 70 of the nation's leading brands and corporations and asking consumers to donate while they shop to support the lifesaving mission of the hospital.

"I love the history of when St. Jude began," Kimberly Perry says in the video above, premiering exclusively on The Boot. "The idea from Day One is that they would never turn a patient away based on income, race, where they are from. That legacy is carried over all the way into today. I think it's one of the most special things."

Throughout the clip, TBP are shown interacting with young patients at St. Jude.

"It's such a selfless place," Kimberly Perry adds. "No family has to worry about the financial constraints ... Here, it's all about one thing, and that is finding a cure for these diseases and passing that information on."

Among the celebrities taking part in this year's Thanks and Giving Campaign are country singers Sam Hunt and Lucy Hale, as well as Jennifer Aniston, Sofia Vergara, Jimmy Kimmel, Ashley Greene and Zach Posen, among others. The stars are all featured in national television spots, such as this one from the Band Perry, that will debut on Nov. 23 and run through the end of the year.

“We are so thankful for this incredible group of celebrity friends who lend their hearts, time and talent for our St. Jude Thanks and Giving Campaign,” says Marlo Thomas, national outreach director for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. “... This amazing support allows us to keep my father’s founding promise that no family pays St. Jude for anything -- not for treatment, travel, housing or food -- because we believe all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”

Throughout November and December, shoppers can make a donation to the Thanks and Giving Campaign wherever they see the St. Jude logo, or purchase special items benefiting the hospital. Donations can also be made online or by phone at 1-800-4STJUDE.

The Thanks and Giving Campaign has raised more than $588 million in total since it began. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. For more information, visit StJude.org.
