Terri Clark has spent the past month on her Unplugged and Alone tour, keeping her away from home for days at a time. Earlier this week, Terri posted a new blog on her website, updating fans on the latest news in her life and career.

"I figured I would go ahead and write my latest update now because when my head hits the pillow at home tomorrow, I will be down for the count," the singer wrote on Monday, November 1. "The tour has been the hardest I think I have ever worked, but we have also come out of this having lit a new 'fire' under our asses. I never realized how important it is to keep things fresh, and this Unplugged and Alone concept brought along with it a whole new set of challenges and big rewards in a creative and connecting sense. I know I've seen quite a few of you on this tour, and can't tell you all how much I appreciate your comments, support, and big love!"

Terri also revealed to her fans that she's heading back into the studio next month to work on new music, including a song for her late mother, Linda, who lost her battle with cancer in April.

"I will be recording the song 'Smile' that I wrote about my mom in December, and I can honestly say in my entire career, I have never seen a song impact people this profoundly," Terri writes. "I didn't have a clue you would all relate to it on such a deep level. It was my story about my mom and me, so thinking it was highly personal, I just didn't realize it hit the hearts of so many the way that it has. It is a true gift, and my mom left me with that. We will do our best to get it out and make it available to anyone who wants it once it has been recorded and released."

In addition to preparing for her new album, Terri is also gearing up to play Tootsie's Orchid Lounge's 50th anniversary celebration on November 7 in Nashville. She'll then head north to Alberta to film a CMT Canada Christmas special scheduled to air during the holiday season.
