Taylor Swift sat down in front of a live audience of her screaming fans at YouTube's San Jose, Calif. offices, to talk about the power of social media, reveal behind-the-scenes video footage from her Speak Now world tour, and answer a few of the 30,000 fan questions submitted by her "Swifties" for the live Q&A session. Here are some highlights:

On writing songs about her relationships: "I've had a guy be like, 'You're not going to write about this are you?,' and I'm like, 'Yeah, I am!'"

On surprising her audiences with unlikely cover songs: "It's kind of unusual when I rap. [laughs] I guess people don't see that coming. But I love [Eminem's] 'Lose Yourself.' We were in Michigan, and I started playing 'Lose Yourself' acoustically and started off with 'Yo!' And everybody was like, 'What is happening? This is really weird!' But I love a great song. I don't care what genre it's in; I don't care if it's completely opposite of what people think is country music."

On how her fans try to get her attention at concerts: "A lot of them are going the crazy costume route ... That girl is dressed like a chicken and I'm trying to find the meaning, and I don't know why. And then there's a Santa Claus, or people who have duct taped their entire body in neon duct tape."

On what makes someone beautiful: "When I meet someone and there's that magical thing about them that makes them unforgettable, and they're sincere and honest in whoever they are ... that makes them beautiful."
