Taylor Swift has broken yet another record. The superstar's pop-country crossover smash, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" has been at No. 1 for nine weeks on Billboard's Top Country Songs chart, setting a new record for most weeks at No. 1 for a hit by a female artist.

Taylor's latest achievement breaks a record held for 48 years by Country Music Hall of Fame member Connie Smith, who stayed at the top spot for eight weeks with her debut single, "Once a Day" in 1964. Although Taylor is now the record-holding female, the most recent act to surpass that nine-week run is Buck Owens, whose 1963 hit, "Love's Gonna Live Here," stayed at No. 1 for 16 weeks. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" has also landed on Time magazine's Top 10 Songs of 2012.

Taylor's tune also topped Billboard's Hot 100 chart, but the songstress says she doesn't focus on whether her songs appeal to multiple genres. "For me, genres are a way for people to easily categorize music. But it doesn't have to define you," she tells The Boot. "It doesn't have to limit you. It doesn't have to make up this kind of imaginary rule book of you can only use these instruments, you can only use this kind of song structure and you can't go anywhere near loops or big drum sounds. I love the idea of getting to paint with lots of different colors, musically."

The global icon holds two spots in the Guinness Book of World Records. Taylor is named in the 2012 book for Fastest Selling Digital Album by a Female Artist, for her 2010 Speak Now album, as well as the Most Simultaneous U.S. Hot 100 Hits by a Female Artist, with 11 charting back-to-back singles. With this latest accolade, chances are good she'll earn a spot in the records book for another year.

Taylor will kick off her Red tour with two shows in Omaha, Neb., on March 13 and 14, with Ed Sheeran as opening act. See a list of her upcoming gigs here.
