Taylor SwiftIn spite of the rumors swirling that Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner are romantically linked, the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year continues to insist the two are just friends. And even though they're often spotted out on the town together, the singer maintains she's happy to keep it platonic.

"He and I have gotten really close," Taylor says, telling In Style (quote via PEOPLE), "I've never thought it was a curse to be single. And at this point in my life, I'm in the mind-set where I choose to be single ... I got to light scented candles and write in my diary. I wouldn't have time for that if I had a boyfriend right now!"

The two Taylors met while playing high-school sweethearts, as part of an all-star cast filming 'Valentine's Day' earlier this year. And, the New Moon: The Twilight Saga actor admits being her boyfriend was easy, even if it was only for the cameras. "Taylor is hilarious," he says. "It was definitely not hard to play her love interest!"

What proved challenging, the singer says, was having two Taylors on the set. "They were like, 'Taylor, on your mark – no, not you, the other one!' So halfway through the shoot, I said, 'How about you guys call me Swifty and call him Taylor?'"

"Swifty" and Taylor can be seen, along with some of Hollywood's biggest names, including Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper and Julia Roberts, in the movie that will hit theaters in February 2010.
