After blacking out her social media profiles and teasing fans with cryptic messages, Taylor Swift has announced the news fans have been waiting for: A new album, Reputation, and single are on the way.

Swift shared the news of her new music via Instagram on Wednesday (Aug. 23). Reputation is due out on Nov. 10, while its first single will drop on Thursday (Aug. 24), sometime at night. Although she didn't share any further details about the project or the song, Swift did share the album's cover art: a black-and-white shot of the superstar, with her name in various newsprint fonts overtaking one side of her face and body.

Swift last released a new album, 1989, in 2014. That project was her first completely pop album, after starting her career as a country artist. The record became the best-selling album of 2014, and the fastest-selling record in more than 10 years.

In June, Swift's back catalog of music returned to streaming platforms. She originally removed her music from such outlets in 2014.

Most recently, Swift won a public court battle vs. Denver radio DJ David Mueller, whom she accused of assaulting her during a meet and greet in 2013. Mueller originally sued Swift in late 2015, claiming that he was unjustly fired from his job as a radio personality for KYGO-FM and also lost prospective business opportunities because of the allegations. A month later, Swift filed her own countersuit, saying that Mueller “intentionally reached under her skirt and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission.”

On Aug. 14, just a few hours after closing arguments were made in Swift’s lawsuit vs. Meuller, the jury unanimously determined that Swift was, indeed, groped by Mueller during a meet and greet in 2013, and found that Swift’s mother Andrea and her radio rep, Frank Bell, did not interfere with Mueller’s employment at Denver radio station KYGO-FM. The jury awarded Swift the symbolic $1 she asked for in her countersuit; they awarded Mueller nothing.
