Taylor Swift, Kid Rock Among American Music Awards Performers
Taylor Swift and Kid Rock have more in common than both having performed at this week's 44th Annual CMA Awards. Taylor and Kid have just been announced as performers for the 38th Annual American Music Awards, along with Miley Cyrus and Carlos Santana with Gavin Rossdale. The show takes place Sunday, November 21.
Also making appearances at the AMAs are 'American Idol' finalist Danny Gokey and 'iCarly' actress Jennette McCurdy, who will join pop singer Lance Bass and reality star Whitney Port as hosts for the live digital pre-show 'Coca-Cola Red Carpet Live! @ the AMAs' beginning at 5:00 PM (ET). The pre-show will stream on ABC.com and ustream.TV.
Taylor, who took home five AMAs last year, is among the country artists nominated for this year's awards. She's recognized in the Female Country Artist category, along with Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. Lady Antbellum lead the way in nods, tying with rapper Eminem with five mentions. Among the trio's nominations are Favorite Band, Duo or Group in the Pop/Rock and Country categories, Favorite Country Album ('Need You Now') and Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist.
Other country nominations include Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley for Favorite Male Country Artist, and joining Lady A in the Favorite Country Album category are Jason Aldean's 'Wide Open' and Carrie Underwood's 'Play On.'
Previously announced performers for the show include the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi and Pink.
