Taylor Swift turns 23 years old on Dec. 13 and to celebrate the momentous occasion, she'll premiere her 23rd video, "I Knew You Were Trouble" on MTV.

"I've written about 'shame on you, you broke my heart,' but I've never written about 'shame on me, you broke my heart. I knew when you walked in, you were going to be complete bad news and I ran toward you anyway. I believed you anyway. I fell for you anyway, even though every red flag was going up every step of the way,'" Taylor tells The Boot of her inspiration for the song. "We find ourselves where we are in that situation where we want to think we're the exception. We want to think we can change someone, tame a lion, or make a bad guy good ... But nine times out of ten we end up looking back going, 'Shame on me. Should have seen that one coming!'"

Taylor pulled out all the stops in filming the video for the tune from her latest album, Red. "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" actor Reeve Carney stars opposite the singer in the clip, which was directed by famed video director Anthony Mandler (whose credits include Rihanna, Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber). The superstar also enlisted more than 50 extras for the video, which was shot over two days in Los Angeles.

While Taylor has stayed mum on details of the video (although we know she sports a pink hairdo), chances are good she already has an elaborate concert stage planned for the tune.

"I love for you to see a different thing for each song," she tells The Boot. "I love for there to be surprises -- having the audience think they're going to see one thing and then it's a completely different thing than you thought. That's a really rewarding part of putting on a show, is getting to know that the crowd got their money's worth. For the effort it took to file into the arena and find parking for their car and all that, I want them to completely, without a doubt, feel like it was worth it to come see me play."

"I Knew You Were Trouble" is the third release from Red, which has already achieved multi-platinum status since it was released in October.

Taylor will kick off her Red tour March 13 in Omaha, Neb. See a list of her concert dates here.

The video for "I Knew You Were Trouble" premieres Thursday, Dec. 13 at 4:40 PM ET on MTV.
