Taylor Swift will be honored with the 2011 Harmony Award during the 27th Annual Symphony Ball in Nashville on Dec. 10. Nominated by the Nashville Symphony, the recipient is selected each year based on their contributions and embodiment of the Nashville music community.

"We are proud to call our home Music City, and Taylor Swift is the perfect person to receive this award, because she has contributed so tremendously to promoting this amazing community of which we are all a part," says Alan Valentine, CEO/President of the Nashville Symphony.

The 'Sparks Fly' singer joins an impressive list of country superstars who have previously received the honor, including Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, the Judds and LeAnn Rimes. The yearly event is scheduled to take place at Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

The news comes directly on the heels of another awards announcement. As we reported yesterday, Taylor nabbed an impressive five nominations for this year's CMA awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year for her multi-platinum record, 'Speak Now,' Female Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year for 'Mean.' The winners will be announced live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 9, 2011 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
