Taylor SwiftWhen Taylor Swift woke up on Sunday, she was no longer a teenager. "I'm twenty," she tweeted at 2:25 AM. Sweet and simple.

Taylor celebrated in sweet and simple style, inviting her band and crew and a few friends over to her family's home in Hendersonville, Tenn., for butter cookies and gingerbread cookies with cream cheese icing, which she baked for everyone the night before.

"It's more like an end-of-year Christmas party that happens to be on my birthday," Taylor tells PEOPLE.

Taylor also celebrated by giving $250,000 to schools around the country which she's either attended or worked with. Her not-so-simple, but very sweet donation will help pay teachers' salaries, buy books and help fund various educational programs.

"Something I wanted to do at the end of this amazing year and especially on my birthday was give back to something I really believe in, which is education," Taylor reflects. "The schools that I went to and the amazing people I got to learn from really turned me into who I am, and I wanted to give back."

Taylor also "appeared" on 'Saturday Night Live' again this weekend. In his opening monologue as host of the show, the superstar's rumored boyfriend, actor and martial-arts expert Taylor Lautner, reenacted the scene at the MTV VMA Awards with Taylor Swift and Kanye West mannequins on stage. He proceeded to ask Taylor, "What seems to be the problem, honey?," then went about knocking off Kanye's head. See the hilarious video here.
