James Otto co-wrote 'Just Got Started Lovin' You' with Jim Femino and D. Vincent Williams. He released the song in July 2007 as the first single from his 'Sunset Man' album. The tune went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in May 2008 -- Otto's first No. 1 hit -- and took the top spot on the year-end chart as well. The singer-songwriter tells The Boot about crafting the song.

We sat down to write, and I said, "I have got this hook: 'just got started loving you.'" D. Vincent had this melody line, which turned out to be completely hook-y.

The feel of that melody and that hook just sounds sexy, but I had no idea it was going to do what it did. I thought it sounded like a hit, but it was just a shock to me when it became what it became. It was surprise after surprise, week after week.
