If a trip to Nashville is on your agenda any time soon, you'll be sure to see stars at such must-visit locations as the Grand Ole Opry. But for a more up-close-and-personal experience, you might want to venture to a few of the places where the stars eat, shop, and just hang out.

The Nashville edition of the Examiner website reports that in a red carpet interview, Miley Cyrus sang the praises of her local Wal Mart, while her buddy Taylor Swift has been seen enjoying a more upscale shopping experience at the popular (and more pricey) Mall at Green Hills.

When they're not on the road enjoying the food and beverages provided in their dressing rooms, the stars have got to eat, and that means having to shop. The better halves of Keith Urban and Brad Paisley -- Nicole Kidman and Kimberly Williams-Paisley -- have been seen walking the aisles of the Whole Foods grocery store, and are also known to frequent the local farmer's market. In a recent interview, Carrie Underwood was extolling the virtues of the Harris Teeter grocery store. (Side note: this author has spotted numerous hungry stars, including Kellie Pickler, making late-night visits to the local Kroger. And among the celebs encountered while shopping for books at the expansive Davis-Kidd bookstore: Reba McEntire, Wynonna, and -- back in the day -- Minnie Pearl, Conway Twitty and future Vice President Al Gore).

And don't forget some of the local restaurants, many of which have collected autographs of the stars who've dined there. One of the most popular (and best) places to have breakfast and see stars is the Pancake Pantry. The eatery has such a reputation, in fact, that Garth Brooks even filmed a segment there for a TV special.

The most important thing (other than keeping in mind there are laws against stalking!) is to be respectful and to remember, as the Examiner notes, "they're just people too."
