’90s Kids Are Gonna Love Smithfield’s Playlist! [LISTEN]
Smithfield's Jennifer Fiedler and Trey Smith are '90s kids, and it shows in the music they listen to. The country duo compiled a playlist for The Boot that features a number of big '90s hits: everything from "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls to "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" by Shania Twain.
"“Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls was the song that inspired me to start writing," Smith shares with The Boot. Fiedler, meanwhile, calls Twain, Faith Hill and LeAnn Rimes her "all-time country music heroes."
"These women and their music made me fall in love with country music," Fiedler adds. Listeners will hear all three, plus Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris and more throughout Smith and Fiedler's 30-song playlist. They also included a few Lady Antebellum tracks.
"When we heard Lady A's “Need You Now," it made us want to capture that special harmony and emotion in our music," Smithfield remember. "This playlists combines songs and artists that are our very own influences of country, pop and rock -- what inspired us growing up and now."
Smith and Fiedler's playlist also includes Matchbox 20's "Real World," Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like," some John Mayer tracks and a bit of classic rock: Boston's "More Than a Feeling," Aerosmith's "Jaded" and "Desperado" and "Seven Bridges Road" by the Eagles. It's almost two hours' worth of music, so press play below and enjoy!
