Shania Twain Announces Rock This Country Tour
For the first time in 11 years, Shania Twain is hitting the road! The singer announced her Rock This Country Tour on Good Morning America today (March 4).
“Finally, after 11 years, I am going back on tour,” Twain told GMA host Robin Roberts, to cheers from the show's crew. "It’s been a long time."
The Rock This Country Tour kicks off on June 5 in Seattle, Wash. Twain will spend most of June playing across Canada, then head back into the U.S. for more shows; dates in California, New York, Texas and more states are currently scheduled through the end of August. Canadian actor and country musician Wes Mack will serve as Twain's opening act in Seattle and Canada, and Gavin DeGraw will take over opener duties after that.
Twain also revealed that this trek will be her last.
“I just feel like I’m ready to hang my hat up in that regard,” the almost-50-year-old said. “I just really want to go out with a bang.”
Tickets for all Rock This Country Tour dates go on sale to the general public on March 13, but Twain's website is offering a pre-sale beginning March 10. A complete list of currently scheduled concerts is below; ticketing details are also available on Twain's website.
Twain released her Shania: Still the One Live From Vegas CD/DVD on March 3. The album features material from her Las Vegas residency, which wrapped up in December. It's been 13 years since she last released an album of new material.
