Shania Twain Hopes to Duet With Post Malone — She Even Wrote a Song for the Occasion
After rap superstar Post Malone was spotted grooving hard to Shania Twain's performance of "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" at the 2019 American Music Awards, many fans couldn't help but wonder if there was any chance of the two artists teaming up. Turns out, Twain was one step ahead of them: Not only does she have high hopes for a duet with the rapper, but she's already got a song in mind.
In a new interview with daytime TV show The Talk, Twain says she's thrilled by Malone's admiration. "That's so cute. I mean, that's adorable!" the country legend said in response to video footage of him dancing to her AMAs set.
When asked if she'd consider a duet, Twain responds without hesitation. "Oh, I've written a song for us already. He doesn't know it yet. He knows now!" she says with a laugh. "So, Post, I have a song for us."
The AMAs wasn't the first time Malone proudly has worn his Twain fandom flag on his sleeve. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon during a summer late night TV appearance, Malone revealed he plays a lot of Twain's music while getting ready for shows.
Malone has also gained quite a few country stars as fans over the course of his own musical career. Dan + Shay, Michael Ray and Danielle Bradbery have all covered his song "Psycho" at various points. Malone is known for unexpected collaborations and duets, but of course, he's never teamed up with anyone quite like Twain.
