Ronnie Dunn's 'Cost of Livin'' is increasing -- in a good way! The singer has announced he will become a grandfather for the first time, as his son Jesse's wife is expecting their first child next year.

"What do you call that word?" Ronnie jokes about his new moniker. "I can't get it to come out yet. Anyway, they have a baby due. Found out it's a boy. I'm gonna be a granddad! I got it out. I gotta go to therapy now!"

The singer is currently climbing the charts with 'Cost of Livin',' the second single from his self-titled solo debut. Although some execs thought Ronnie was too wealthy to record the poignant song, the singer's personal struggles growing up helped him connect to the tune.

"I grew up in trailer houses in New Mexico, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma," Ronnie tells CMIL. "We can all relate to it. I even look today at the cost to run a bus, it's insane."

With a grandchild on the way and a successful post-Brooks & Dunn solo career, Ronnie admits the stars are aligning as far as the next chapter of his career is concerned. "It took going through Brooks & Dunn for me to be comfortable to sell what I put on this record," Ronnie tells The Boot. "To do what I'm doing today, to have the confidence and experience as a writer, a performer, a singer and an artist to do what I feel I need to do, and do it justice."

Ronnie scored his first Top 10 single as a solo artist with 'Bleed Red,' which fueled his self-titled album's debut at No. 1 on the country charts. 'Cost of Livin'' is currently No. 19 and climbing.
