Rascal Flatts members Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus will both spend their holidays trying to to keep tiny hands away from the Christmas tree. The two men both have 1-year-old daughters to bring even more joy into their respective households this holiday season.

"It's been probably my most transformative year and I'm thrilled, I'm overwhelmed and I'm very grateful for the gift of Madeline," first-time dad Jay shares with Headline Country, of his daughter, who turned one on Dec. 17. "She has really caused me to grow up a lot in a very short amount of time. I am so proud that she's mine and so grateful for her every day, and she gives everything that I do new purpose."

Meanwhile Joe Don is also enjoying time with his little girl, 15-month-old Raquel, who is baby sister to 3-year-old brother Jagger. "She's watching her brother all day long like a hawk," Joe Don notes. "Everything he does, she tries to do. She's starting to talk and you see what she likes real quick now, and you see what she doesn't like when it comes to foods or different toys. It's so weird, but she leans to the girlie toys. It's amazing how girls are so much different from boys, and it happens really quick in their life. It's so special."

The two multi-instrumentalists undoubtedly took lessons from lead singer Gary LeVox, who is a proud parent to two daughters, ages 13 and seven. The trio will spend the holidays off the road before they head out for their Thaw Out 2012 tour in January, with Sara Evans and Hunter Hayes serving as opening acts. See their concert schedule here.
