Rascal Flatts to Receive Humanitarian Award

Rascal Flatts will be presented with the 2012 Artist Humanitarian Award at this year's Country Radio Seminar in Nashville on Feb. 22. The award recognizes the trio's ongoing charitable efforts and contributions.

In 2010, the musicians donated $3 million to Nashville's Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital to create the Rascal Flatts Surgery Center. "In my mind, it's one of the big and best accomplishments we've been able to achieve as Rascal Flatts," the group's Jay DeMarcus says.

"The closest thing to heaven on earth is this place," lead singer Gary LeVox adds. "We are truly honored and humbled to be a part of this establishment. The doctors and the staff are absolutely world class. Not just in the profession, but in their hearts and as people."

Additionally, the threesome are currently the celebrity spokespersons for the Jason Foundation, a national suicide prevention organization. They've also served on the American Red ross Celebrity Cabinet for seven years.

The Artist Humanitarian Award ceremony will take place at CRS 2012, immediately following the Keynote Address. Attendance is only open to Seminar registrants.
