Why We Dig Him: Dean Brody and his wife found a place to live after he took a job at the mines in Elkford, B.C., and he was pretty sure he had put music behind him. The next day, producer Matt Royer called to tell him another producer, Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson), had pitched him to Broken Bow Records and that they wanted to sign him to the label! It didn't take Dean long to head back across the border and south to Nashville.
