Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood will team up for a duet at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.

The two superstars will debut a new song titled 'Somethin' Bad' on the broadcast, Billboard announced Wednesday (May 7). The song is a track from Lambert's upcoming album 'Platinum,' which is set for release on June 3.

“I’m a huge Carrie Underwood fan,” Lambert tells Billboard. “‘Somethin’ Bad’ is a meshing of our styles and there aren’t many female collaborations in our format, so I’m really excited to be debuting it on the Billboard Awards.”

While Lambert was thrilled to get Underwood for the track, she admits singing with the powerhouse vocalist made her nervous.

“Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating. I’ll be honest. She is an amazing vocalist,” she says. “Asking her to do this was nerve-wracking. I sent her an e-mail, a long, blabbing e-mail about if she wanted to sing on the record, it could be cool, but maybe she didn’t want to, and if she liked the song, but she didn’t have to like the song … and when I sent it, I thought, ‘This sounds ridiculous.’”

Lambert also hopes Underwood will appear in a video for the song.

“I’m hoping that she’ll come to the dark side and blow something up and set something on fire in the video,” she adds.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 18 at 8PM ET on ABC.
