Newcomer Mickey Guyton Breaks Radio Record With Debut Single
Country newcomer Mickey Guyton has entered the industry in a big way, breaking a record with her debut single.
'Better Than You Left Me' had 79 adds at country radio on the days of its release, making it the most-added song of the week and giving Guyton the highest one-week add total on a debut release in Country Aircheck history.
Guyton co-wrote the song with Nathan Chapman, Jennifer Hanson and Jenn Schott. The singer recently made her Grand Ole Opry debut on stage at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium.
“I can’t believe I performed on the Ryman stage for my first Grand Ole Opry appearance,” she says. “It’s been such an incredible journey to get to today, and I am so excited to share my first single and video with the world. I can’t thank country radio enough for being so kind to me and accepting of my music.”
The Texas native has also released the music video for 'Better Than You Left Me,' which was directed by Peter Zavadil and features Guyton along with her best friends and roommates and her dog Charlie. Watch the video above.
