Meghan Linsey Covers OneRepublic’s ‘Counting Stars’ [VIDEO]

Meghan Linsey has released a new video to accompany her cover of OneRepublic's 'Counting Stars.'

Linsey's cover is a more up-tempo version of the hit pop song with a bit of a country twist. The video and song were released earlier this month.

Linsey is set to release a solo EP early in 2014 after splitting with her fiance and Steel Magnolia band mate Joshua Scott Jones in the spring. The future of the duo is uncertain at the moment, with Linsey telling Country Weekly in March that there's a chance they may record together in the future.

“I’m not saying we’ll never make another record because you never know," she says. "We were together personally for a long time, almost six years, and we did break up. We basically took some time to ourselves, reconvened, decided we could tour together, decided to go ahead and book the dates, and then in the meantime, we started working on our solo projects."

The duo split after a rough patch that included Jones going into rehab, the pair losing their record deal and ending their personal relationship. For now, Linsey seems to be doing just fine performing solo.

“I see it as a positive thing. I’m really grateful for the experience and to have had the success that we had, but he was doing a solo thing before, too," she says.
