Luke Bryan Playing Pre-Stanley Cup Final Game 6 Set From Tootsie’s Rooftop
Luke Bryan will get hockey fans in Nashville hyped up for Sunday night's (June 11) 2017 Stanley Cup Final Game 6 between the Nashville Predators and the Pittsburgh Penguins with a free, partially televised performance prior to the start of the game. The coolest part: Bryan's show will take place on the rooftop of Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge.
Bryan's four-song set will be streamed live from the rooftop of Tootsie's, the famous honky-tonk on Broadway in downtown Nashville, on NHL.com, the National Hockey League announced on Saturday (June 10). The performance will begin at 7PM ET and will also be shown live on large video screens situated on Lower Broadway, outside of Bridgestone Arena and inside the arena itself. One of Bryan's songs will air during the Game 6 broadcast on NBC, Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports; the NHL Network will also air snippets of Bryan's show during its pre-game coverage.
"We wanted to come up with a way to cap off the Predators' last home game of the 2017 Stanley Cup Final in the most unique and memorable way," says NHL Content Officer and Executive Vice President Steve Mayer. "To have Preds fan Luke Bryan in one of Nashville's renowned locations will mark an incredible and unforgettable start to Game 6."
The Nashville Predators’ National Anthem singers during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs have all been major stars: Carrie Underwood and Bryan sang the Anthem during the Preds’ two home Round 1 playoff games, while Little Big Town, Vince Gill and his daughters Jenny and Corinna and Lady Antebellum sang during Round 2.
For Nashville’s three home games during Round 3, the Western Conference Final series, Keith Urban, Kelly Clarkson and Trisha Yearwood did the honors. Martina McBride performed before puck drop of the Predators first Stanley Cup Final home game, Game 3, while Dierks Bentley did the honors for Game 4.
After five games in the 2017 Stanley Cup Final series, the Predators are trailing the Penguins three games to two. If Pittsburgh wins Game 6, they will win the Stanley Cup; if Nashville wins, the deciding game, Game 7, will take place in Pittsburgh on Wednesday (June 14).
